Diriyah Company outlines 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance achievements and future ambitions in first ESG report
Diriyah Company has published its first Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, which covers the Company’s sustainability approach, practices, and performance for the 2024 calendar year.
The report highlights key ESG milestones that the Company has achieved, notably the finalization of an overarching Sustainability Strategy and establishment of an ESG governance framework. through the United Nations Global Compact. Adoption of embodied carbon assessments (ECA) and life-cycle assessment (LCA) initiatives, and submission of first Communication on Progress (CoP) through the UN Global Compact, are other important achievements.
Diriyah Company also continued to make tangible achievements in ESG, including:
Environmental
100% of irrigation from treated sewage effluent
Management of over 3.3 million square meters of park and green cover
Social
Almost two-thirds of employees are Saudi nationals
Over 9,200 safety training sessions delivered
Almost all procured goods and services from locally registered suppliers
Governance
Achieved ISO 27001 and ISO 27005 certifications for data security
Certifications the Company has received, as outlined in the report, include five LEED Design Letters of Compliance, seven Mostadam Design Certificates, a Mostadam Diamond certification for Qurain Cultural District, and AJWAD Quality of Life certifications for two projects.
Driving continued ESG performance will be a central focus for Diriyah Company over 2025 and beyond.
To support this aim, it has developed additional targets across a range of areas such as energy efficiency, biodiversity and cultural heritage. The report also outlines how the Company aims to align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
